What the petition asks
Impose stricter rules on the media if they are found to be lying, misleading or creating panic to sell their stories.
The media have sensationalised and made money off creating panic and scaring the most vulnerable! They are not reporting facts but anything that will sell their papers. Their tactics have led to supermarkets been emptied, people demanding school closures, putting extra pressure on the NHS in a time when the NHS needs to be robust as it can and by doing so risking lives. Their scaremongering has destroyed the travel industry, Airplanes grounded nationally putting god knows how many jobs at risk.
