What the petition asks
In the wake of the governments advice to the general public to avoid pubs, restaurants, theatres, clubs and other hospitality businesses, independent businesses need financial support for wages, rents HMRC, VAT and bills to ensure these thriving businesses contributing to the UK economy stay open
As the advice is to avoid rather than banning these premises to stay open, businesses cannot turn to insurers for business interruption. It is critical that the government acts now and helps these businesses with there basic cashflow through this period.
