Ban Public Gatherings Don’t “Advise” People to Avoid Them
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
Officially ban public gatherings over a certain threshold to allow businesses to claim their loses through insurance.
By only “advising” people to avoid pubs, restaurants, theatres etc the Government is forcing the decision to cancel events or close businesses onto the business themselves. This then invalidates any insurance those businesses have as technically the events can go ahead and pubs/restaurants can stay open despite the public being told not to attend these places.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
The Government has banned public gatherings of more than 2 people who are not from the same household, and closed all pubs, bars and restaurants.
