What the petition asks
With the increasing effect on working & earning potential brought about by the Covid-19 Virus crisis the government should enact emergency legislation suspending private & commercial mortgage & rent payments & the business rates liability for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis.
The ability of businesses and therefore the workforce of the country to earn a living is being severely impacted by the restrictions brought in to control the spread of the Covid-19 virus. It is therefore in the best interests of the population and businesses that the large percentage of income which is payed out on both private and commercial rents and mortgages as well as the payment of business rates be suspended until such time the Covid-19 crisis is considered finished.
