Abolish council tax for the duration of the Coronavirus.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Businesses have lost a lot of income due to Coronavirus. However, households are still expected to pay the local government their council tax. This tax can bring huge financial pressure. The least the government can do is to abolish the council tax while the Coronavirus epidemic is ongoing.
Households are struggling financially due to lack of income. On top of that, people are expected to stay at home when they have to use more utility services, gas, electricity and water. The least the government can do is to reduce the burden by abolishing council tax while Coronavirus epidemic is ongoing.
