Petition · past parliament

Ban all non-emergency dental treatment during the COVID-19 crisis.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Dental professionals are the most exposed vocation, carrying out treatments which creates aerosols. The COVID-19 virus has been shown to survive 3 hours in the air after aerosol treatments and is highly infectious. The masks routinely used are not effective enough for this virus.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Since you started your petition the NHS has advised all dental practices to stop and defer all routine, non-urgent dental care: https://www.england.nhs.uk/coronavirus/wp-content/uploads/sites/52/2020/03/issue-3-preparedness-letter-for-primary-dental-care-25-march-2020.pdf
