Freeze mortgage, credit & rental re-payments until a cure for COVID-19 is found

What the petition asks
As the government implements policies to prevent the spread of COVID-19, society should demand to be given a 12 month payment holiday on all mortgage, rental and credit repayments particularly when it is impossible to find work at this time and given the level of uncertainty.
The government need to implement emergency legislation that will ensure society can focus on caring for their loved ones without getting into more debt. It is completely unsustainable to expect people to stay in doors, receive threatening letters of missed payments, whilst simultaneously caring for their family.
Legislation would ensures the government will cover the hole it would cause borrowing money that has never been so cheap to access.
Payment holidays should not affect credit ratings
