Include childcare providers in coronavirus package of economic support

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

The chancellor has just announced that the hospitality and leisure industries will be supported over the coming months. This petition is to include childcare providers in the same measures to ensure they also survive this crisis.
Our nurseries are critical to ensuring working parents can continue to work.

If nurseries have to close due to the coronavirus crisis, their terms of business mean that fees may not be payable, and even where not the case, many parents are likely to remove their children as they cannot afford to continue to pay or due to health concerns. When this is over, we all want our children to return to their nurseries, to familiar staff and settings. Please help our childcare providers survive this!

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign these petitions calling for the same action:

Make nurseries exempt from business rates to support the childcare sector
Give UK nurseries emergency funding if they have to close down amid COVID-19
