Temporarily release low-cat prisoners to protect Staff/Inmates from COVID-19.

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

Temporarily release low category prisoners from HMP to protect staff/inmates from Covid-19 virus epidemic.

Human Rights Watch have said. Prisons should consider supervised release and other non-custodial alternatives for detained individuals who are at high risk of serious effects from COVID-19.
COVID-19, like other infectious diseases, poses a particularly serious risk to populations that live in close proximity to each other, such as in nursing homes, military barracks, college dormitories, prisons, jails, and immigration detention centers.
Lack of medical personnel and resources.
Will save the Government money and this money can be used elsewhere to support the communities.
