Petition · past parliament
Deploy NHS staff in non emergency sectors into Corona virus affected hospitals.

15 signatures
What the petition asks
Deploy all non-emergency NHS workers into other sectors to help out with the massive influx of patients due to the national emergency that is COVID-19 --> portering, delivering medication or any other help that is required to ensure all of our hospitals are run at full efficiency and efficacy.
Non-emergency staff are still running clinics such as screening programmes that have seen a massive drop in uptake due to people staying at home. Staff MUST be re-deployed to other sectors in order to help assuage the pressure on front-line staff. The NHS is inspirational and filled with staff who want to help but are not being given the opportunity to do so.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
In any case staffing is a matter for individual NHS trusts.
