Wave council tax payments for the first three months of 2020-21 due to Covid-19

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Council tax is charged to anyone that owns or rents property in the UK.
These bills can sometimes be in their hundreds depending on circumstances
We feel that due to the financial crisis caused by coronavirus, that councils should not charge for the first three months of the 2020-21 tax year.
With the situation with workers potentially having to self isolate themselves and their families while still having the burden of not working there will be issues with finances.
SSP will just about cover food and something towards energy bills but nothing else.
This will prevent debt and give relief to many people while the economy recovers.
The public need as much relief as possible and this will help.
