What the petition asks
Let us have our our prom , everything with the COVID-19 has gone out of proportion, our prom isn’t till June. I’ve been planning my prom since i was six, this will go ahead!
They will make this go ahead because I am not being the only year not to have a prom. Like I said i’ve planned this since I was very young and now it’s cancelled.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The arrangements for proms and similar events are a matter for individual educational institutions or other organisers, not the Government or Parliament.
The Government has banned all gatherings of more than two people in public, so you could start a new petition calling on the Government to end the prohibition on public gatherings of more than two people, to allow events such as proms to go ahead.
