Petition · past parliament

We should not get our predicted mocks for our GCSEs and instead do exams!

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

This is because me as a student last year I have successfully done my GCSE RE and for my mock I managed to pass with a Grade 4. However I managed to get an Grade 8 in the real GCSE meaning that some kids don’t take it seriously until the last 2 months. No one knew I was going to get an 8.
Mock grades are nothing compared to exams in exam conditions whether it’s because the kids know the questions. Student might have cheated and no action might have taken place. Class exams most student have not revised for it and therefore I strongly believe that GCSEs should have exams to give every child a fair and real grade.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament. You can read the decision made by exam boards on what will happen to exams here:

As a result of the large numbers of petitions people have tried to start on this issue, and following a large number of questions it received from petitioners about exams, the Petitions Committee asked the Government about the impact of coronavirus on schools and exams.
