Give emergency service workers free parking near their workplace

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Police, fire fighters, all medical staff and other emergency workers should be able to park near their place of work notwithstanding council parking restrictions.
We need to keep our emergency workers healthy during this crises and therefore must avoid them having to use public transport.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

The Government have announced that they will provide free car parking for all NHS and social care staff. You can read more about this here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-to-provide-free-car-parking-for-nhs-and-social-care-staff.

More broadly, parking restrictions are the responsibility of local authorities or private providers, not the UK Government or Parliament. You may therefore wish to submit a petition to your local authority calling for them to take this course of action, as many have their own petitions systems.
