Tax-Exemption for Overtime Pay for Full-Time NHS Staff during COVID-19

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Tax exemption for all payments outside of basic contractual hours - including overtime, out-of-hours, unsociable hours, local agreements, and extra duties - for full-time NHS staff from 11 March 2020 through to 30 days after the WHO declares COVID-19 contained.
These extra duties carried out by NHS staff outside of contractual hours should not only be recognized but rewarded by HM Government, as working these hours in order to contain and treat the COVID-19 outbreak are above and beyond the call of duty. Taxing of these extra hours is penalisation of the goodwill and hard work of NHS professionals during the greatest public health crisis to date.
