Close all retail stores to protect all retail workers from the COVID-19
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
The government should order all retail stores to close. There are many retail stores still open which are making workers more vulnerable and at high risk of getting infected which will result into a rise in the number of cases and deaths.
The government or parliament needs to do this in order to protect all UK citizens and residents from COVID-19. People are being told to socially distance however, this is not possible for retail workers dealing with customers for 8 hours a day.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Since this petition was created, the Government has announced that non-essential shops should close. It has also asked everyone to stay at home. You can find out more here: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
