Make private nurseries shut for everyone but key workers’ children
Rejected

What the petition asks
The current government guidelines have left a grey area regarding the choice for private nurseries to stay open. If private nurseries won’t shut for everyone but key workers’ children, the beneficial effect of closing down all school amid COVID-19 surge is vain and teachers are at greater risk.
I can see that lack of a definite ban leaves dangerously open the possibility for private nurseries to stay open.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Since you started this petition, the Government has announced the closure of schools and nurseries, and issued guidance for early years and childcare settings to remain open only for children who are vulnerable and for those children of workers critical to the coronavirus (COVID-19) response who absolutely need to attend.
