Give NHS nurses the same pay and rights as school teachers

What the petition asks
NHS nurses do not have the same rights to strike, they get paid considerably less than, and yet they spend the same amount of time training and even more time and money in renewing and registering than teachers do. As a result NHS nurses should be remunerated at least in line with teachers.
Whilst NHS nurses are encouraged to pay into a union, unlike teachers they have no right to strike. In times such as the Covid-19 outbreak, schools are closed and teachers can safely isolate themselves but nurses cannot and are infact expected to work more shifts and longer hours. If a school pupil physically or verbally attacks a teacher, the pupil will be removed from school. If a patient or patients relative physically or verbally attacks a nurse, the patient still has the right to treatment.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
The Government is not responsible for setting the salary of most key workers, or setting minimum wages for particular sectors, but you may wish to sign petitions calling for the following actions:
