What the petition asks
Many of the key workers listed as needed to keep the UK going are the lowest paid. The Conservatives described many of them as “unskilled” just a month ago.
The UK Government & Parliament must ensure they are given a permanent pay rise for putting their (and their families) health on the line.

It is a long standing & grave injustice that those listed as key workers during the COVID-19 Crisis are some of the lowest paid in society. Many of those listed have been derided as “unskilled”.
They cannot be expected to put their and their families health on the line for those with the means to self-isolate without being given at the very least a genuine living wage now & going forward.
Their bills/expenses should also be covered for their service to our citizens during this crisis.

Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
The Government is not responsible for setting the salary of most key workers, or setting minimum wages for particular sectors, but you may wish to sign petitions calling for the following actions:
