Give the NHS workers the pay-rise they deserve during this pandemic

What the petition asks
NHS staff are vital in this time of crisis, and we believe they should be paid accordingly. We recognise that the pandemic means we may face recession, so we suggest that MPs take a 15% cut and their wages be frozen for the next five years to fund a raise for NHS staff.
Currently all MPs will get a basic annual salary of £81,932 from April 2020 (https://www.theipsa.org.uk/mp-costs/mps-pay-and-pensions/) meanwhile, many student nurses, based on a band system, are earning £18,005 annually (https://www.nurses.co.uk/careers-hub/nursing-pay-guide/).
We believe, based on these figures, that MPs can afford to raise NHS wages - and show their appreciation of NHS staff who are risking their lives to save people everyday.
We need to show the NHS how much we care about what they do, and support them so they can continue to do it.

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
