Self employed get 80% of their average income the last 3 years

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

While employees get 80% of their incomes covered up to £2,500, the 15% of the workforce who are self employed and freelance have to resort to the welfare system at £95/week. If their partner earns over 16k then not even that. Many have families and we all have bills.
£95/week isn’t enough for people’s bills/families. You should go on what people earned over the years to give an average on what they should be entitled to receive.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
