Give the National Living Wage to the Self Employed during Corona Virus Crisis

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The income support for the Self Employed falls far below that of Directors or the Employed. SSP provides less than £400 a week for the Self Employed when up £2500 is being proved to all other employed persons. This is grossly unfair and will drive many hard working entrepreneurs into bankruptcy.
Create something nearing fairness by providing the National Living Wage to those that are Self Employed during the Corona Virus Crisis.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

The National Living Wage is an hourly rate of pay, not a minimum income.

Since you started your petition the Government has announced support for self-employed individuals: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/chancellor-gives-support-to-millions-of-self-employed-individuals
