Financial help for self employed CHILDMINDERS during Coronavirus crisis

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

Make financial grants available for self employed childminders who have been forced by government to close their settings during the coronavirus crisis.
We are in a unique position with no help.
I face months with no income, and no home by the end of this. Please give us a chance to survive.
"Every child matters" but apparently not every childcare provider does.
Government forced us to shut during the coronavirus crisis, now please give us the chance to survive.

Nurseries can apply for grants to pay up to 80% of their staffs wages, yet childminders are being told to apply for universal credit or statutory sick pay.
Many others like me will be forced to close their business' once this is all over. I face months of not being able to feed my son and then homelessness at the end.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
