Have shopping hours for key worker people not just nhs staff

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

Currently there is hours for the nhs staff to do their shopping at particular hours. How about opening up to all key worker groups
I am in the key worker group and I work 8-6:30. When I go to do my shopping there is nothing left on the shelves for me

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The opening and delivery arrangements for supermarkets are a matter for individual retailers, not the Government or Parliament. A number of retailers have announced plans to prioritise elderly or vulnerable customers, and NHS workers. Customers should contact their local supermarket to find out if they have put such arrangements in place.

The Government has made certain changes to enable supermarkets to work together during the coronavirus outbreak, particularly to serve customers who are elderly, ill or vulnerable: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/supermarkets-to-join-forces-to-feed-the-nation
