What the petition asks
Increase hourly rates for these caring people who go above and beyond to care for vulnerable people in their own homes and residential homes. Putting themselves and their own loved ones at risk. They are amongst the lowest paid employees in the country. Yet they work endlessly to keep people safe
Also carers allowance should increase its currently just over £60 per week. Hardly £1 per hour for those that take over when community carers have completed their duties
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure what you mean by 'realistic' wages.
You might like to sign these petitions instead:
Pay Carers an allowance equivalent to a fulltime job at the National Living wage
Increase pay for NHS healthcare workers and recognise their work
We would like the government to consider social care as equally important to NHS
