Make it the law to stop and report hitting a cat under the road traffic act 1988

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

It should be compulsory to report an accident involving a cat just like it's compulsory to report hitting a dog.
Sadly on 20th March 2020 our beautiful cat Ruby was hit by a car, the driver never stopped. While the driver carried on with their lives a part of our family lay dying, in pain & scared with nobody to comfort her. When I found my girl she was already dead, she died alone & the way I found her will haunt me for the rest of my life. So many people believe a cat is "Just a cat" but she was our cat and part of our family.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

We're very sorry to hear about what happened to Ruby.

We think this petition is asking for the same action: Grant cats the same status under the Road Traffic Act 1988 as dogs
