What the petition asks
Create a bank holiday to thank everyone who was involved the COVID-19 Crisis.
As the COVID-19 epidemic continues in the United Kingdom, I the undersigned urge the government in the strongest possible sense to call a national bank holiday once this crisis is over.
A bank holiday to remember not only those who tragically lost their lives, but a day of thanks to all the medics, police, teachers, supermarket assistants, members of the armed forces, cleaners, support staff and others who selflessly put their lives on the line for us day after day.
They continued to go to work not knowing whether they would end up occupying one of the much needed beds they fought so hard to keep people out of.
Their sacrifice will have allowed us to carry on, and should NEVER be forgotten.
