What the petition asks
Like many of you, I have returned back to my family home during this COVID-19 pandemic due to my university being shutdown & no face-to-face lectures taking place.
We would like the government to waive the fees of students’ remaining payments to student accommodation short-hold tenancy agreements.
We would like the government to waive the fees of students’ remaining payments to student accommodation short-hold tenancy agreements.
We are now still liable to pay for the accommodation we are not using. For me this is just over £2000 of my maintenance loan that is being wasted for 1 terms rent.
By signing this petition you will be supporting students all across the UK who are no longer living at university and have returned to their home-towns during this COVID-19 pandemic.
It is our understanding that there is no way out of these tenancy agreements, but this could change if the government agree.
