What the petition asks

I want the self employed people to be helped and treated the same way as the employed work force in the Uk through this hard unforeseen time with coronavirus outbreak so that they get 80% salary of there last SA302 submitted to the HMRC on a monthly paid basis.

To stop the self employed from not being able to support there business and there families through this hard time we are going through. Many self employed people live on a pay cheque to pay cheque basis also just like the employed. We are not being given much help accept from being able to claim statutory sick pay what is well below a average living wage what is not going to cover bills and mortgages/rents along with food for our families.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
