What the petition asks
Those in university accommodation during the COVID-19 pandemic should not have to pay rent.
Many Uni accommodations are still asking for rent on a term that has been cancelled.
The government need to make a statement in order for something to be done as there is no advice or help at this time.

Universities and Schools have been told to close, leaving many Uni Students stranded or in need to flee home.
Accommodations are requiring that students move their things out and hand their keys back, however still ask for upwards of £2000 rent on the room.
Many students have to pay out of pocket for part/all of their accommodation, and with closures of workplaces, it makes it a lot more financially straining.
It is unfair to ask that students pay this at a time of worry and panic
