Stop all unnecessary travel especially to UK seaside/holiday resorts

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

With the Covid-19 accelerating across the country and in light of social distancing in place, I would like to raise the concern that there is an increased presence in holiday resorts throughout the UK.
Members of the public have been contacting the Holiday Parks & Campsites only to be informed that as long as there is NOT an announcement restricting this, they will continue to take people in.

This could have devastating effects on areas that are already struggling:

1). Adding to the regions NHS resources
2). Increase in demand from the already overstretched food suppliers
3). Increased risk of spreading the disease

Please ENFORCE the request for non-essential travel as soon as possible

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Since this petition was started, the Government has issued guidance on further businesses and premises to close. The Government has said that exemptions apply where people live permanently in caravan parks or are staying in caravan parks as interim abodes where their primary residence is not available.
