What the petition asks
Self employed and zero hour workers to get 80% wage payments during the covid-19 outbreak inline with other works in the UK who are PAYE.
We still pay our Taxes and National Insurance contributions so why should we be left out in the cold because we work for ourselves.

Offer the same wage payment package to every person in the UK that has or had been in employment up to and including the beginning of March.
You the government are putting us out of work and are now asking us to live on a fraction of the money we would be earning in our normal working lives.
Many of us our construction or zero hours workers who are labelled “Self Employed” even when we technically work for other small to medium businesses.

Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
