What the petition asks
Zero income tax for any low income essential worker during the span of the Covid-19 crisis.
Supermarket (etc.) staff are saving us from plunging into absolute chaos by putting their and their families' lives at risk. These roles have historically been monetarily and socially undervalued.
At the same time many who are more financially stable are collecting state money.
We owe so much to these societal guardians.
This will help them a little financially.
This is also, perhaps more importantly, a symboilc gesture of the immense gratitude held by the population and, I assume, government.
