What the petition asks

We want the government to implement the closure of non-essential retail stores to cuff the spread of Covid-19. We’ve closed bars, restaurants and gyms but do they realise how densely populated the likes of Oxford St and Carnaby St can become in such a short space of time.

Clothing and everything that falls under the umbrella of fashion are seen as a luxury. There is no need for new t-shirts, socks or trainers at this point in time - focus should be angled towards protecting the UK public and keeping vulnerable people off of the street.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
