Raise limit for contactless payments to avoid cross infection of Covid 19

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Temporarily raise limit for contactless payments at food shops and petrol stations, to avoid cross infection of Covid 19.
Most payments in these places are above £30, resulting in shared use of pinpad, and increased risk of infection.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The contactless payment limit is set by banks.
