What the petition asks
I would like the Government to raise the minimum wage for social care employees and cleaners to a Living Wage.
People that work as social care providers or cleaners are among the lowest paid people in this country and I believe that whilst all jobs are important, cleaning and social care are, as current circumstances show, particularly important.
For those that aren't cleaning so that we live in a pleasant and healthy environment, there are those that are caring for us at every step in our lives.
For them to be paid a penny less than a Living Wage is a national disgrace; I am hoping to change that.

Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
The Government is not responsible for setting the salary of most key workers, or setting minimum wages for particular sectors, but you may wish to sign petitions calling for the following actions:
