Provide added life insurance cover healthcare workers / essential services.

What the petition asks
Inadequate PPE for healthcare workers and members of essential services. Even 30 and 40 year old medics and nurses are on ventilators. It is Government’s duty to support the immediate family and provide healthcare if they survive but disabled by complications of corona virus infection.
NHS staff are the fourth fighting force and are not recognised in the same way as the armed forces. We are fighting this battle with inadequate PPE / appropriate weapons. We are exposing young doctors, nurses, radiographers and allied health professionals to a novel virus. We are recalling the vulnerable recently retired NHS staff, who are at increased risk of complications or even death. Start a COVID fund for the NHS staff who are fighting a battle against the deadly and invisible enemy.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We understand that you want the Government to provide additional support to essential workers who suffer disability or death because of coronavirus, but it's not clear if you want the Government to provide additional support in the event of death, or disability, or both, and also whether you want this to apply only to healthcare workers, or all essential workers. You could start a new petition stating in more detail exactly what you want the Government to do.
We have published a petition calling on the Government to fund increased death in service benefits for NHS staff who die during Covid-19, which you might like to sign: Fund increased death in service benefits for NHS staff who die during Covid-19
