What the petition asks

Stop placements or fund student nurses of all years.We are working and learning, not being paid and risking our life, our families life, and children’s life for our education. Which we don’t mind but now the COVID-19 into place. Our healths are more important. We should get paid or be signed off

We have to do 250 hours per placement a year. We work so hard on placement for free as well as some students working part/full time. We should get paid a decent amount to feed our families and ourself. The COVID-19 is a risk to us all. Either pay us or cancel all placements with effect of immediately without it damaging us passing the year and graduating on time.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Student placements are a matter for the educational institutions the student is enrolled in, the organisation sponsoring the placement, and the regulatory bodies that are responsible for the qualifications, not the Government or Parliament.

If you have concerns about continuing with a placement you should raise these with the educational institution you are enrolled in, the organisation sponsoring your placement, and the relevant regulatory body.
