Equal rights for 80% of wages help from government for self employed.

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

Pay the self employed 80% of there wages if they cannot work due to covid19. They pay taxes and it would be easy to work out from tax returns.
Because in this type of unprecedented crisis the self employed need the same support as the employed. They should be as valued by the government as the employed and treated equally. They will be expected to help pay back the debt one day.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Since this petition was started, the Government has said that most self-employed people can claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 per month for the next 3 months.
