Pay double salary to nurses during the Covid19 crises.

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

A lot of people are asking to be paid in full during the Covid 19 crises to sit at home, while the healthcare staff whom risking their own life and well being to tackle the pandemic are expected to have the same low salary they had been getting for decades.
The conditions they work under are a lot more demanding, challenging, stressful, often managing under insufficient conditions like inadequate staffing, equipment , moral or clinical support. This will have future repercussions for them, in a lot of issues like early burnout, PTSD, and many more.

Nurses predominantly the lowest paid unrecognised, undervalued profession in the UK.

Other countries already considering paying double wages to their nurses and being presented to their parliament.

So please think carefully who needs to be compensated during the Covid 19 and support your healthcare workers fairly, with the respect and value they deserve.
