Pay self-employed workers 80% of gross income during Covid-19

What the petition asks
The Government’s Self-Employed Income Support Scheme pays 80% of a self-employed person’s profits, up to £2,500 per month. This does not cover running costs, expenses, or supplier and contractor obligations.
The current scheme could result in many self-employed people going out of business, and businesses with high expenses and low profits in particular will receive little support. The Government should change this scheme so it provides a grant of 80% of gross income, not net profit.
