Require schools to allow children the option to retake their year next year

What the petition asks
At the beginning of next year, the Government should require all schools to allow their pupils to re-take the previous school year
Assuming that the lockdown continues into Summer, it will have cost pupils ~half of their total time in their present year.
Mostly, this will have little impact, but we worry that it will adversely affect the social/intellectual lives of:
Reception children just learning to read or add
Those just integrating into new high schools or colleges
Those preparing for the 11+
The cost of reducing workforce entry rate for a year is far less than that of hindering the education of a whole generation.
