What the petition asks
All construction sites that aren't operating to build essential structures relevant to the current climate, I.E hospitals or morgues, should close during the lockdown period in the fight against Covid-19. Trade specific businesses should also cease trading if work is non-essential to the situation.
Many construction sites and relevant trade businesses are continuing to operate on non-essential works during the Covid-19 outbreak, whilst the rest of the UK are on lockdown. Building sites can have hundreds of people working at any given time and employers are not adhering to the safety guidelines. My husband is working on building sites where there are no hand sanitisers available, no gloves, no running water. Social distancing is impossible. Public are calling the police to the sites. Close!
