What the petition asks

On March 26th we show appreciation for all the keyworkers and people out there working and risking their own health and that of their household

We should use this day to show appreciation, mark it in the calendar as keyworker appreciation day, up their salary as some keyworkers are out working putting themselves at risk for minimum wage, on this day we need to do the clap outside to show how much we appreciate it

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We understand that you want the Government to do something to acknowledge the role of the NHS, but it's not clear exactly what you want the Government to do. The Government is not responsible for designating "national days".

We have started a petition calling on the Government to create a new Bank Holiday to thank those who helped during the Coid-19 crisis, which you might like to sign: Create a new Bank Holiday in recognition of the NHS and all its amazing workers.
