What the petition asks

I would like the government to set up a system in which all students who have returned home to their families during covid-19 and are still paying rent for somewhere they are not living will get their rent reimbursed.

Students throughout the country have had their universities shut and told they may return home to be with their families. Some students have kept their accommodation hoping they would return to university and some have left completely yet are expected to continue rent payments for properties they will not be living in through no fault of their own. This money is now nessecary to support the household they have moved back to, extra supplies to work remotely and security during covid-19.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
