What the petition asks
As support workers we undertake a complex job for £8.60 an hour, supporting people with social and physical needs from Autistic young children to palliative care and we face different challenges every day it is a rewarding job, but we are unappreciated and not recognised for the hard work we do.
Every person we support has their own needs and personality, and our responsibilities will reflect that. Here are some of the areas that you are most likely to be involved in:Health and wellbeing, make positive choices about eating well, taking exercise and maintaining good hygiene. It might also involve providing emotional support, or helping them with dressing, washing and personal care. Safeguarding People with learning disabilities who are vulnerable to abuse or

Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
The Government is not responsible for setting the salary of most key workers, or setting minimum wages for particular sectors, but you may wish to sign petitions calling for the following actions:
