Change NHS dentists' contracts from Self-Employed to Full-Time Employees
Rejected
14 signatures
What the petition asks
NHS dentists should be given the same recognition for the work they perform, as all other NHS healthcare providers. They should have full-time employee status with all rights and benefits, fixed monthly salaries (non-target dependant), and free indemnity cover for all NHS dental care provided.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Decisions about how to provide NHS dental services are an operational matter for the NHS, not a decision for the Government or Parliament.
You could start a new petition calling on the Government to nationalise dental services, so that these are provided by public sector workers.
We have published a petition calling on the Government to revoke the Health and Social Care Act 2012 and renationalise the NHS, which you might like to sign: Revoke the Health and Social Care Act 2012 and renationalise the NHS
