What the petition asks
Every day care staff in the private sector do an amazing job whether care home or community based but don’t get the appropriate pay for all the hard work they do to make those they care for live a comfortable life and it’s about time we get the right pay we deserve
We are just as important once people have come from home/hospital we a responsible for their health and safety and their overall well-being we generally do CARE and I believe we should get more than what we are paid and to some we are family as they have no one else which puts us under a lot of pressure to do more than what our job role describes
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government sets national minimum wages for workers of different ages, but isn't responsible for setting the salaries for privately employed individuals.
We have published a petition calling on the Government to consider social care as equally important to NHS, which you might like to sign: We would like the government to consider social care as equally important to NHS
