Make March 26th a national holiday as “NHS day”

What the petition asks

Create a new national holiday on the 26th March each year with special opportunities for all parts of the community to support the NHS and social care workers and recall the bravery and commitment of staff during the coronavirus pandemic.
Creating a national holiday is something only the government can do. It also has the resources to support the NHS and social care the enable a national day of support. This could include voluntary additional NI payments.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition calling for the same action: Create a new Bank Holiday in recognition of the NHS and all its amazing workers.
