What the petition asks
Cancel the agreement to allow Hauwei involvement in the building of the UK 5G network infrastructure and software.
This is a major risk to national security, exposes the UK to Chinese eavesdropping and intelligence gathering and puts at serious risk our membership of the '5-eyes' intelligence agreement. All members of this agreement have stated Chinese involvement in state communications is a risk to their national security, and the USA has stated it may have to re-visit their intelligence sharing agreements with the UK as a result. These agreements help keep us safe with the continuous flow in intelligence and flow of information with our allies.
